Installation/System Requirements

1. What do I need in order to use CQLog.com products?
The minimum system requirements for running our products are:
  • Microsoft Windows® 95/98/ME/NT4.0/2000/XP
  • Microsoft Internet Explorer version 5.5 or later.

2. How will I know when a new version of a CQLog.com product is available?
To learn about new versions of CQLog.com products, please visit our Web site regularly. You can also subscribe to our newsletter to easily stay up-to-date. When you learn of a newer version, download it from our Downloads page and reinstall it. You may have to uninstall the previous product version first, although this is not usually required.

3. I tried to install a CQLog.com product several times, but it doesn't work. What's wrong?
If a CQLog.com product can't be installed and you have made sure that this problem is not listed in this FAQ, then please contact us. Explain the problem in detail including which version of Windows, which version of Internet Explorer, and which program you are using.

4. How can I uninstall a CQLog.com product?
All our products can be uninstalled as easily and quickly as they are installed. To remove one of our products, use the Add or Remove Programs utility in the Windows Control Panel:
  • Click the Windows start button and go to Control Panel;
  • Double-click the Add or Remove Programs entry;
  • Scroll through the list of programs and highlight the CQLog.com product you want to remove;
  • Click the Remove button.

If our products didn't suit you, we'd like to know why. Please find some time to leave us your feedback. Your opinion will help us improve our products.

Using CQLog.com products

1. The context-dependent help file, what this means?
For displays of the information on an window item it is necessary to Set Focus on it (field, button or other item of an active window) and to press F1. On the screen monitor the Help file will be displayed which subject describing assignment of this window item.

2. Set Focus, what this means?
To make active the window item, for example button, check boxes, field etc. If to move the mouse pointer on any field and by clicking the left mouse button is a field receives focus i.e. on it the field will be set focus. Use the TAB key also for sequential set focuses. For example, at opening the QSO Data Entry window the focus will be placed on an Callsign interactive field (in it a field there will be a cursor). At sequential pressing the TAB key the focus will be received by static: Callsign, Name, Qth, ..., Mode fields; QSL asking, sent, receive check boxes; and so on.

3. What is the RIC database? If it is an callsign database that can be downloaded it?
It is the Russian Internet Callbook. You can find it on the web site http://ric.cqham.ru/ but it in Russian and interesting for Russian-speaking radioamateurs living in other countries.

4. How to prepare the RDA application?
Step-by-step for version 0.96 and more recent. Select confirmed QSOs - on the tab List it is necessary to move the mouse pointer to the header of a QSL(r) column and to click the left mouse button.

Prepare form for application on the tab Accessories:
- click the "Award" button;
- put RDA in the "Award title" field;
- on necessity fill the "Number and date of basic Award" field;
- select NOTE from the "Rem from" drop-down menu;
- put RDA: (colon in the end) in the "Keyword" field;
- select the "Filter by Keyword" checkbox;
- select the "Do not put repeated ... Remarks" checkbox;
- select REMARKS from the "Order to" drop-down menu;
- print out the RDA Application Form.

Privacy Issues

1. What is the privacy policy of CQLog.com? I am worried that my personal data will be sent to CQLog.com if I use your products.
CQLog.com respects and protects any confidential information about persons who are using our products. No personal data of any kind will be recorded or saved except as needed to solve problems you have with a product. Such information will be destroyed when the problem is solved. Our products are not spyware; they do not send any information to CQLog.com.

If you have a problem with any of our products, the fastest way to find an answer is to read the Help file, the ReadMe.txt file, or this FAQ. If there is no solution to your problem in these documents, please visit the Support page to send us a message.
